Shipmaster Retaz 'Baketamee was the commander of the SDV-class corvette Unconquerable Will in the Covenant Fleet of Steadfast Guard.

Biography[]

Fall of Daego[]

Main Article: Fall of Daego

In December 2550, the Covenant discovered the location of the UEG colony world Daego. Not long after this discovery, a small portion of the Fleet of Steadfast Guard, led by 'Baketamee, exited slipspace above the human planet. The Daego Defense Fleet, led by Fleet Admiral Mark Ridley, engaged 'Baketamee's ships immediately, and destroyed a CCS-class battlecruiser. Soon after, the rest of the Covenant fleet, commanded by Fleet Master Tolo 'Zhekamee, arrived and assisted 'Baketamee's forces. They eventually destroyed the Daego Defense Fleet and started deploying troops to the surface of Daego.

After the UNSC retaliated with the Cole Protocol, and all valuable data on the planet was destroyed, 'Baketamee and the other Covenant ships started bombarding the surface, killing all human forces there.

Daego Insertions[]

Main Article: Daego Insertions

When the UNSC returned to Daego as part of the search for the Forerunner weapon known as the Casket, 'Baketamee's ships were unsuccessful in interdicting the single frigate which slipped through their lines. The mission was unsuccessful, however, and the frigate was forced to retreat. The Unconquerable Will pursued the ship, igniting a violent space battle. 'Baketamee fired several pulse lasers at the frigate, killing many of its crew members. However, the human vessel managed to survive and escape the conflict, when it fired its MAC cannon and Shiva missile, severely damaging the corvette. Later, 'Baketamee docked his corvette with another Covenant ship, the Ghost of Redemption, which remained over Daego until further reinforcements arrived.
