  • A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

A Sith Lord known as Darth Sidious named himself the Emperor of the Galactic Empire. In his rise to power, he ordered the execution of all Jedi, as they were the only ones with the power to be able to stop him. In mere moments, thousands of Jedi were murdered by the troops they thought were their allies, sometimes even their friends. Ever since, the Emperor has ruled the galaxy with an iron fist.

However, not all Jedi fell to the genocide. Some escaped, and usually went into hiding. Ten years after the founding of the Galactic Empire, an extremely deadly Imperial Intelligence agent is tasked with tracking down and killing a powerful Jedi Master, who has been spotted on the city planet of Taris.

After the agent and his strike force land on Taris, they are betrayed by their very own pilot and his crew. However, Jon Varsin is not the worst part. It would appear he used to be part of a larger criminal organisation. With the help of the local Imperial forces, the agent plans on uncovering and destroying whatever organisation Jedi Master Tunlaan Ros may have formed.

    • Rasshk took a gulp from his mug of ambrostine and signalled to the Duros to clear the empty plates away, as Krivur approached.

Rasshk: <Where are we off to now, agent?>

    • Krivur: Gather around, everyone.

Krivur sits down at a table, and gestures his team to sit.

    • Zander stroked his beard thoughtfully as he waited for Krivur to begin.

    • The Duros arrived at the table and lifted up the plates, and placed thereon Rasshk's empty mug. The Trandoshan, not respecting Qesmor or his actions, also subtly slipped onto the plates in a pair of credit coins.

    • Qesmor grabs his helmet from the table and puts it on, before taking a seat near Krivur.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur glances at Qesmor, raises his eyebrow as the Stormtrooper puts on his helmet, then decides to say nothing about it.

Krivur: Commander Graives has informed me about the activity of this organisation. It would appear they are highly organised, and they have frequently raided Imperial warehouses and storage facilities. Read the file, if you want.

He grabs his HoloCom, puts it on the table, and displays the file.

Krivur: What we are going to do is try to capture one of their members.

        Loading editor
    • Qesmor: So, where do we start looking?

        Loading editor
    • Zander looked the file up and down. "Is the objective to acquire a target who possesses knowledge of our quarry or are we aiding the stormtrooper detatchment in clearing this area so as to free up their resources?"

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: Actually, Commander Graives has been so kind to lend us any forces we need. They will assist us as we please. With their assistance, we will capture a member of the rebel organisation. We will then extract as much information as we can.

Krivur alters the Holoprojection, showing a map of where and when the rebels have raided Imperial facilities.

Krivur: Using this file, we can predict the location and time of the next strike.

        Loading editor
    • Qesmor leans forward and starts inspecting the map.

Qesmor: Hmm. There seems to be a pattern. Their next target will probably be the Imperial warehouse in Sector 18. We should set up an ambush.

He turns to one of the Stormtroopers that came with Krivur.

Qesmor: I'll need a squad of troopers under my command.

      Stormtrooper: Yes, sir.

        Loading editor
    • Zander leaned back still stroking his beard. "Experience has tought me never to underestimate my prey or his lackeys. This pattern of behavior seems a little too stupid for the Rebellion."

        Loading editor
    • Qesmor: Well, Inquisitor, perhaps you can use your Force powers to predict their next movement?

        Loading editor
    • "One does not need a connection with the Force to predict such things. Mere strategic insight will suffice. The pattern is somewhat confusing . If I were the Rebel Commander I would make all my strikes as random as possible and keep on the move.

Based on this information, it seems like they are taking an organized systematic approach that, if they continue to follow, will allow us to fairly easily see where they are going next. It just doesn't feel right. Perhaps their commander really is an idiot. Perhaps not.

We should move forward carefully, cover all possibilities, and be ready for anything."

    • Uwe listened to the group as they discussed, as she kept working on the device she had from her previous job. She then looked over to contribute to the conversation.

    • Qesmor: The vehicle we encountered in the old fort was an Imperial XR-85 tank droid, which is a fairly recent model. Seeing as they've been raiding Imperial bases, we should expect to see more of our own technology and gear in their hands.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: Nearly all of their equipment is probably Imperial technology. This means they will have firepower superior to most other rebel organisations. Be prepared for this.

Krivur makes the holomap zoom in on the Imperial warehouse, showing its layout.

Krivur: We will lay in ambush here and here. If they do appear, they will have to come through this passage, allowing us to create a bottleneck. If they do not appear, then we will simply search out another facility they might raid.

        Loading editor
    • Rasshk: <How about we spread the idea that we are transporting something valuable to the facility? When the rebels come to take it, we spring the ambush upon them. Then they come to us, instead of having the uncertainty of whether or not they will.>

    • "That is a terrific idea. We have numerous locations that would be ideal but it can't be too ideal or it will be all to obvious that it is a trap and they won't take the bait."

On the other end of the room, a pair of Rebels, hiding behind a repulsocraft transporter, open fire on the Troop Transport with their DLT-19s.

However, amidst the blaster fire, Qesmor manages to jump out of the vehicle and dive behind a stack of crates, but not before being hit in the shoulder.

Krivur leaps off of his stack of crates, and opens fire on two rebels. One of them falls to the fire, while the other scurries for cover. However, a Stormtrooper positioned on a balcony makes short work of him.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: Very well. If that is the way you choose, then I will oblige.

Krivur chooses one of the devices. It's a matte black cylinder, with a long needle protruding from one end and a red button on the other. He fiddles with some controls on it, before driving it into Graives' shoulder. Graives almost squeaks as the needle penetrates his flesh.

Krivur: Tell me everything. Where is your base of operations? Do you have other spies in the Empire? Where is Tunlaan Ros?

        Loading editor
    • Graives remains silent, as the needle is pushed further into his shoulder. Eventually, he lets out a scream of pain.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: Tell me everything you know.

Graives answers with silence. In return, Krivur presses the button on the back of the cylinder. The device starts humming, and an electric shock surges through Graives.

    • Graives screams as he is electrocuted.

Graives: I... won't... tell you... anything...

        Loading editor
    • Krivur chuckles.

      Krivur: Believe me, you will.

He fiddles with the switches on the side of the device some more, before pressing the red button again. This time, the shock is longer and more intense.

Krivur: I was, quite literally, born for this work. Tell me everything you know.

        Loading editor
    • Zander: "Here is how this is going to go. You tell me what I want to know, and I won't hurt you. Fail to tell me what I want to know, and I'll have no choice but to redefine pain for you."

The Mirialan remained silent. His eyes burned with nothing but loathing.

        Loading editor
    • Graives: And... why should I do that? I have nothing to gain. You'll keep torturing me until I'm dead even if I tell you.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: Oh Graives, you are wrong. If you tell me all you know, I will kill you. If you refuse to tell me, I will keep you alive.

Krivur presses the button once again.

Krivur: But I can promise you, from this moment, you will prefer death over life.

        Loading editor
    • Graives screams even louder as he is electrocuted once again.

Graives: Okay, stop! Stop! I... I know where their base is...

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: Well? Where is it, then?

        Loading editor
    • Graives: It's... It's somewhere on the outskirts of Sector 5... That's all I know.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: That is not very specific, is it?

Krivur kneels next to Graives' face.

Krivur: I do not believe that is all you know. You are one of them. I am sure you can tell us more about the organisation.

Krivur pulls out the needle, wipes off the blood, and stands up to pick another torture device.

        Loading editor
    • Graives: We're smarter than you think, Krivur. I've been a spy in this facility for years, and all this time, they've refrained from telling me too many details about their way of operating.

Graives stares at the torture devices.

Graives: In case this ever happened.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: You think I care? You know more than you have told me.

Krivur pauses his choosing, and turns to Graives.

Krivur: You do not know "too many" details. I believe that. What I do not believe is that you know nothing at all.

Krivur picks up a syringe, containing a sickly green fluid.

Krivur: Do you know what this is, Graives?

        Loading editor
    • Graives stares at the syringe nervously.

Graives: I told you, their base is on the outskirts of Sector 5! That's all the information they ever gave me! All I've done is tell them about the Empire's supply lines!

Graives attempts to get up, but is knocked back down by Qesmor.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: And who did you tell, hm?

Krivur holds up the syringe again.

Krivur: This is Xebonica. It is an interrogation drug we frequently employ in Imperial Intelligence. During my training, it has been used on me, to teach me to accommodate to torture. I know exactly how it feels. And let me tell you...

Krivur inserts the needle into Graives' arm.

      Krivur ...It is not pleasant.

    • Zander: "Well, this is most unfortunate," Zander said peering into the mouth of his unconsious victim.

"What is it sir?" asked the stormtrooper aid nervously.

"It seems somone has cut out this man's tongue. I have wasted precious time torturing a mute."

"I don't understand," the stormtrooper said.

"These rebels could be extreme fanatics. This injury might have been delivered by an idiot who then let him escape. Or it might even be something given to him by a Hutt crime lord. In any event, this man is useless to me."

"Would you like me to uh, dispose of him?"

"No. Not yet. I'll see if the Agent has any further use for him first. For now, I want him and all the equipment currently in this room to stay where it is."

      "Understood sir."

    • Graives starts sweating heavily and pales. He remains silent, not even having the strength to scream. After a few moments, he finally opens his mouth.

Graives: I spoke with Tunlaan Ros once... He was in the Rebel base, and it's likely that he's still there... Just search the outskirts of Sector 5 and you'll find it... But be aware that it's heavily defended with Imperial weapons... That's all I know. Now please kill me.

        Loading editor
    • Zander approached Qesmor and Krivur.

"Agent, we have a problem. The Mirialan is missing his tongue. He's mute."

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: One moment, Inquisitor.

      Krivur turns back to Graives.

Krivur: I am not done yet, Graives. Do you expect me to believe that you were willing to work for an organisation that you have not even seen one member of, other than Tunlaan Ros? What do you know about the hierarchy? How do they operate?

        Loading editor
    • Graives sighs.

Graives: I told you they didn't reveal too much about them. Yes, I've met them personally, but I only know the basic things. They're a Rebel organisation that is expanding by stealing Imperial technology. And I'm willing to work for any organisation that intends to destroy the Empire.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: And look where that brought you. You made a poor career choice.

      Krivur stands up.

Krivur: You are of no use to me anymore, Graives. You will now meet the fate you chose when you decided to back this rebel uprising.

He turns around and starts walking towards the exit, signaling the Stormtroopers inside as he does so. They close in on Graives, and start pummeling him to death. Just before Krivur leaves, he turns around.

Krivur: I told you I would make you talk.

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: So, Inquisitor. You said you had an issue with the Mirialan?

        Loading editor
    • Zander: "Yes Agent. The man has no tongue and can't speak. I tried probing his mind a bit, but someone, I presume Tunlaan Ros, helped block his mind off."

        Loading editor
    • Aradick: Agent Krivur, what info do we have on the rebels' base?

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: If the Mirialan cannot speak, he cannot tell us anything. Dispose of him.

      Krivur turns to Aradick.

Krivur: The rebels have made their base of operations in the outskirts of Sector 5. They are all armed with Imperial weaponry, and Tunlaan Ros is among them. Graives was a fool - he thought it was a good idea to ally with an organisation that tells him nothing.

        Loading editor
    • Aradick: I don't get it why he had to assist the rebels when he could do away with the Empire. After all, he is a Commander, a high post. But anyways, when are we leaving?

        Loading editor
    • Krivur: We are leaving when we have found the location of the base.

Krivur now adresses the entire crew.

Krivur: I will be assuming direct command over this headquarters until a suiting replacement has been found. If you have any personal business to take care of, now is the time.

Krivur departs from the group, heading towards Graives' office.

    • Krivur steps into the late Commander's office. Rust is standing inside.

Rust: Hello, sir. The engineers in this facility were so kind to repair me. I am now fully operational again. Is there anything you need?

Krivur: Yes, actually. Commander Graives turned out to be a rebel spy. I am taking control of the headquarters, but I will need to contact Moff Teren first. Make sure no one enters the room without me knowing.

      Rust: Of course, sir.

The droid shuffles outside, and takes his position in front of the door. Meanwhile, Krivur starts up the Holoterminal in the desk. Moff Teren's stark figure appears.

Teren: Operative. I trust you have news for me?

Krivur: Yes, sir. We are currently on Taris, in the Imperial headquarters of Section 12. Its Commander turned out to be a rebel spy. I managed to extract some information from him, although he was very uninformed. According to him, the rebel base of operations is located in the outskirts of Sector 5. Undoubtedly, Tunlaan Ros will be there.

Teren: Good. Keep me updated if any further developments occur, operative.

Krivur: There are two more matters you need to be aware of. In the absence of a commanding officer, I have temporarily taken control of the Sector. Please do send a new officer here if you know anyone suitable.

Krivur: The other matter is that Jon Varsin and his crew were also hired by the rebel organisation. They tried to assassinate me and my crew. They are dead now. However, the rebels have shown to be in possession of military weaponry, ranging from E-11 blasters to Sabre tanks. Presumably, they were all stolen from warehouses on-planet. This means that the security level is far too low on Taris. I recommend sending additional forces, so that future warehouse raids may be prevented. That is all.

Teren: Thank you, operative. We will see to it. Teren out.

      The hologram fades.

    • Krivur presses a button on his desk, and a Lt. Colonel enters the office.

Krivur: Gather your Stormtrooper batallion in the docking bay. Order them to scour the outskirts of Sector 5. We have a lead on the location of the rebel organisation.

        Loading editor
    • (I just realised how broken these ranks are. Commanders control a platoon, which is just 30 people. Graives should have been a Colonel or something.)

    • A few hours later, the Lt. Colonel returns to Krivur's office.

Officer: Sir, I believe our reconnaissance teams have found it. It is an old fort, isolated from the other buildings in the area. No point-defence weapons have been detected on it, and it doesn't seem to be occupied, but I am sure this is it. It is the perfect place to make a base without raising suspicions from the locals. Shall I prepare a strike force?

    • Does anyone want to revive this RP? I have been reading and watching lots of Star Wars stuff and my interest is rekindled. I think I could also better portray Xander as an Imperial Inquisitor now with some of the things I've learned.

        Loading editor
    • I think the best way to reboot this RP is to recap on who is playing who and what we've done up until this point.

I play Xander, an Imperial Inquisitor with Grey leanings and a patriotic devotion to the Empire and the Emperor. I'm retconning the violet light sabers. Xander's light sabers will be crimson as is traditional for Dark Side users.

        Loading editor
    • (It's cute that you assume any RP here can still work.)

        Loading editor
    • (I will ignore your patronizing tone in the interest of understanding. Why won't any RP work? Have all the RPers just moved on?)

    • (It baffles me that I need to explain this once again after having done so many times before now. It also surprises me that Inq felt the need to kudos that. I can kind of expect this from you, as you're never in the loop about anything, but Inq has heard this lots of times already.

The people in this community have shown time and time again that they're incapable of keeping up activity, showing initiative, remembering to post and remaining interested. Because of this, all of the RPs on Bravo (and on the Destiny wiki as well) have slowed to a crawl since around the summer of last year. It's why the Battle has faded into oblivion. It's why Manhunt died. It's why its spiritual successor, Pirates, died. It's why Falcon Struggles Not is not even going to last one thread.

I have learned this lesson a couple of months ago, and it is why I choose to remain uninvolved in the RPs that are being set up occasionally in vain hope, as I know they will end up going nowhere.)
